VISIT OF THE ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF STUDENT RECRUITMENT, CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY AFRICA, TO ABIA STATE UNIVERSITY, UTURU

The Faculty of Engineering, ABSU, yesterday hosted Mr. Mike Ssempa, Associate Director of Student Recruitment, Carnegie Mellon University, African location, for an interactive session with students.
He briefed students on postgraduate study opportunities at Carnegie Mellon University Africa, admission requirements, scholarship opportunities (need-based and merit-based), and the benefits of academic collaboration between CMU and Nigerian universities.
He also announced that the Abia State Government has agreed to sponsor any Abia State indigene admitted into CMU Africa postgraduate programmes. Students were encouraged to maintain excellent academic performance and develop strong Statements of Purpose to improve their chances of admission and scholarship awards.
Mr. Ssempa further stated that he hopes to visit ABSU again next year alongside faculty members from Carnegie Mellon University Africa for further academic engagements
